What Should Fans Expect From The Next PlayStation Event

Sony’s next Playstation has yet to be announced. It’s been quite a few months since the last one, and we’re surely due an update very soon, with Sony’s 2023 lineup looking reasonably light.

Since the series started back in 2019, Sony has used the State of Play to reveal The Last of Us 2’s release date, the launch of the gameplay footage for Ghost of Tsushima, and much more. So, it’s always worth watching the State of Play live streams if you ever want to be notified of any massive announcements made for sony Playstation 5 games and the PSVR 2.

The last State of Play debuted back in September 2022. It solely focuses on God of War Ragnarok, which ended up doing exceptionally well with critics and fans alike. Now looking ahead, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be the next game to be showcased, and it has said that it’s probably due later this year, and it could be showing in the next few months.

So, when is the next Sony State of Play?

At the moment, no one really has a fixed date for the next State of Play. The last announcement took place in September 2022, so PlayStation fans may get one in the next few months.

No has heard anything official from Sony yet, and we’ve not seen any credible rumors since then. But, we will be updated once as soon as PlayStation drops any hints.

So, what can PlayStation fans expect from the next Sony State of Play?

Well, Sony has yet to tell us a date for the new State of Play, never mind what the announcements it will include. That being said, we can guess what might be covered. Given that the last State of Play focused on upcoming third-party and PSVR 2 titles, the next State of Play would most likely focus on forthcoming first-party titles.

Right now, what’s coming next could be clearer beyond PSVR 2 games, Marvel’s Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 aside.

Well, the last State of Play was on September 13, 2022, and it was mostly dedicated to third-party and PSVR 2 announcements.

Across the livestream, fans finally got a reveal for Tekken 8, news that Like A Dragon: Ishin was being remade, as well as a new trailer for God of War Ragnarok. This also included a look at the complete Hogwarts Legacy quest for PlayStation, alongside trailers for Pacific Drive, Rise of the Ronin, as well as Synduality.

As far as the PSVR 2 is concerned, we got two new reveals for the upcoming VR headset. Also, an enhanced version of Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, this showcase also revealed Demeo is coming to PS5 and PSVR 2 next year.
